The show was kick ass!! We even had a fairly good sized crowd for a small private party. There was even this one guy that heard us all the way from town. I think the name was Bill…
Bill: “Uh.. yeah… I like, uh… was sitting on my porch, and heard you guys playin’. Thought I’d come and see what was going on”
The crowd was into a few of our new songs, which was probably due to the new robust set list (I’ll have to post it later). I think we even had a few small dance groups going.
My new amp kicked ass, we had a decent stage area, lots of room, good lighting, etc. We really only had a couple real sour spots, but we’re turning that into a positive!! Next Practice: Weeding out the ‘crowd killers’ and start working on more popular stuff.
One would think that this should be priority #1 with any band, but for us… it’s not a job. Thus, we’re quite accustomed to playing whatever the hell we want. But there’s been some good rock coming out lately that’s very agreeable to our tastes AND the crowd loves it (we had some in the set list). But now I’ve gotta dig for more new rock that people like AND play without sounding like asshats.
To top things off, we had one bar owner show up and said we could play at their place… for a few bucks. Shyaaay.. right. Jame’s and I are quite accustomed to how these small town bars work.. it’s stupid. They wanna chew you down on the price, but when we show up the place is packed well beyond fire code regulations, bar tenders running their asses off, people falling down piss-drunk, and the till doesn’t stay shut for longer than 30 seconds. Yet we’ll hear the same old story.. “Uh.. yeah, it LOOKS busy, but nobody’s drinking”… whatever asshole.
We were thinking of asking $500. That would cover a hard rock band AND karaoke. We’d run the karaoke between breaks, and the length of the breaks would be determined by how many people wanna sing.
Hmmm… makes me wonder though. If we do the karaoke at the same time, I wonder if we can have free reign to toss out the crap songs that people wanna do. Don’t get me wrong, there’s always room for a good slow country song, but the crowd dies just about as fast as when we pull out some old Metallica hahaha.

Damn, I wish I could have been there!
So, what is your karaoke/show schedule? I wanna come down one of these weekends to see ya!
I also been chatting with Paul Zeller (I used to hang out with him alot before I met you guys) and I thought I would see him too since he’s in Mitchell as well. I haven’t seen him since I was about 14.
So, yeah…PLEASE send me your schedule!!!

James said that we’re on for the 18th, and we usually go every two weeks.
However, since that’s a weekend that he works, I’m not sure if he’s going to have that changed up.

yeah, this is a pretty cool song =-]. see, with me, it’s all about the voice, if i don’t like the voice, i probably won’t like the band. i think that might be why i usually don’t like any song when i first hear it …

Sorry haven’t been on here in a while. I’ve been hanging out at Facebook quite a bit.
For a community-style platform, it’s really nice. Usually with those things you have all kinds of spam crawling all over the fricking place. But this only has ONE spot for ads… on the right side, completely out of the way of everything else.
Plus, i can post regular shit there without feeling compelled to write a damn book. Overall, it’s by far the best one i’ve seen yet. I’ll probably be shutting this site down sometime.
Anyways, the set list… haven’t had practice in a while ’cause schedules have been all screwy, and my list is over there.
Tron - Disney usually makes a pretty good movie, but Tron? I dunno about this one.
Deadgirl - What’s this about? The ad looks good, but something tells me it might suck really bad hahahah.

too bad i hate those types of websites … Tron is supposed to be an actual sequel to the 1st one, which i didn’t see and to tell the truth, i never did understand the game itself. Deadgirl is supposed to be a horror film, here’s the official website …

You have to sign up for an account. You don’t necessarily need to create a profile either.
Just do it dood. It’s way better than that myspace crap.
